Photos by Vlad Gonzales The Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (DUP)’s first offering of its 46th season, Sidhi’t Silakbo, is a devised collection of monologues and female narratives based on classic Greek plays.
With the play having the same name as DUP’s 46th season, it offers to give representation to the different kinds of women that we see today by reimagining monologues by Antigone, Medea, and Andromache (from Charles Mee’s Big Love, his adaptation of Aeschylus’s The Suppliants).
As Assistant Director, I primarily handled communication lines between members of the artistic team. I also helped formulate devising prompts, assist the dramaturgy team’s research process, and frame the structure of the final narrative.
